100 words on the granola syndrome...

Beware of the Granola Syndrome in church. Yup, you heard me, thee Granola Syndrome. People walk into church as a fruit, a nut, or a flake.

A fruit: healthy, alive, bearing other fruit.
A nut: enough said. (We know those people so we'll just stay PC on this one.)
A flake: tried God, didn't work, gave up. Yes, a flake.

Here's hope for the nuts: nuts can bear fruit! But they need to be rooted, grounded, and watered with Living Water.

Our responsibility is to spread health within the walls of our church. For the building is not the church; we are the church.

So--what are you? A fruit, a nut, or a flake? Keep it real.

I always struggle with this one...i am a dreamer and love things of the heart, but my mind tends to get legalistic at times, and maybe that should tell me right there...but I always feel like i am not bearing fruit and am totally envious of those whos produce lots of fruit (or at least seem to be)....so then i try to figure it out logically on why i am not, or what i need to do to bear fruit (does that make sense?)

this may be a super lame and a "hello! u should know" question", but what are some ways you can tell u r bearing fruit...

I'm a bit of a nut, trying to be fruity, but I tend to flake out at times. Now I'm gonna go make some granola. ;0)

I'm a craisin. A fruit that sometimes dries up, but is refreshed when drenched in Living Waters...

oh wow, the nuts... I am laughing so hard, mostly because God always sends the nuts my way. I needed to be reminded that there is hope for the nut. Thanks LOL

@Nakeia: Thanks!

@Christy: It's not lame at all. But remember, people look better at a distance. Everyone struggles.

@Diandra: Ok, ok, I stole it from my dad. Any good material I have I steal it from him! ;)

@Annie: You ARE a nut. And I want to bite you! Om nom nom.

@Cindy: You're so holy. Wow, can I steal that line? Seriously.

@Raquel: Maybe you're a nut magnet because of your kindness. I speak from experience. Bleeding hearts attract sharks and vultures... and yes, nuts :)

Looooove it! It's so perfect, yet a little sad... but so perfect!

I'm a... well, er, uh... I'm not a flake! I think I'm a fruit, just not as ripe! Yes? No? Maybe so?

I pray that I am a fruit but I think it depends on who you ask!

Fruity Nut, maybe? ;) Love it!

Go for it! And it's not stealing if you ask. (; I went to CC Costa Mesa last Saturday and Michael Smith said something along the lines of "Whether it's cranberries or papayas, you just gotta be fruitful." I want papaya sized fruit someday.

And I'm far from holy, just wholly His and dressed in mercy.

I'm trying to remain a fruit. We fight a long fight and it's hard sometimes, but God is always faithful toward us even though we don't deserve it.

I am encouraged when I remember that it's a marathon, not a sprint.

Again I am reminded that God is good, all the time.

I looooved this post, 'cause it made me think about it aaaalll day hahaha and I got to the conclusion that I'm a nut on my way to being a fruit. I don't know how long that will take (hope not too long :P) but I know that God is putting me in the right place with the right people who can teach me how to become fruit! Thank you for being one of those people, even though I don't know you in person, but your posts bless me even at distance!!

Love it...granola....

ok, I'm a mixed bag. Fighting the last one (really hard). It is so easy to just say forget it, go with the world, I can do it, then I get kicked in the dupa..I mean really really hard and get back to where I belong, on the tree drawing that ultra fine water of refinement, purification, healing, comforting refreshing spirit flowing with-in me. He, the Lord has me.

So, I pray to not be a flake, but to be a Healthy Choice of Granola...

Only with His Grace and Mercy have I and can I.
